The sensory room at Woodlands is a peaceful space to relax and unwind. Whether that is listening to tranquil music or watching relaxing images on the projector, there is something for everyone to enjoy.
Our Sensory Room was designed to provide multiple benefits to those with different conditions and illnesses. Those living with conditions such as sensory impairments, cerebral palsy or dementia will greatly benefit from the positive effects the room provides.
In the Sensory Room are soft objects, changing coloured lighting and peaceful sounds playing which can help individuals to develop their communication skills, improve focus and provide an overall calming effect. It can also help those who struggle to socialise in a normal environment to produce emotions or connections with others in a relaxing setting.
We are glad to see our residents start to use this space with loved ones and staff members, and look forward to integrating more therapy sessions for residents to benefit from.
