Elevating Community Connection with New Club Initiative
Following valuable feedback from our residents, we are pleased to announce the commencement of our knitting club within our home.
Research underscores the cognitive benefits of knitting, which engages intricate hand movements and spatial skills, thereby promoting mental agility. However, we also recognise the importance of residents getting together to foster a sense of community and social connection.
Witnessing the residents at our care home in Aberdeen come together to knit and engage in lively conversation was truly heartwarming. As they shared stories and laughter, spanning across decades and life stages, it was evident how reminiscing enriched their sense of identity and belonging. Through these exchanges, residents not only reminisced about pivotal moments but also imparted wisdom gleaned from their life experiences.
The knitting sessions provided an invaluable opportunity for both residents and our care team to reflect on cherished memories and shared values. If you're interested in learning more about the diverse activities we offer, please explore our Events & Wellbeing Programme. We are committed to ensuring our residents experience new and engaging opportunities every day.
