Dementia Care

We are dedicated to providing specialist dementia care in Aberdeen, offering a secure and compassionate environment where our residents can thrive. Our team is highly trained in delivering care tailored to the unique needs of individuals with dementia, creating a setting where safety, respect, and dignity are always prioritised.

Our approach to dementia care focuses on understanding each resident as an individual. By building strong relationships with residents and their families, we gain valuable insights into their personal history, preferences, and routines. This enables us to provide care that feels familiar and reassuring, reducing anxiety and enhancing quality of life. At Woodlands, we are committed to making every day meaningful for those living with dementia, ensuring they feel supported and understood.

What is Dementia Care?

Dementia is a condition that affects various mental capabilities, including speech, memory and critical thinking. Experience has shown that with the correct care and support, people living with dementia can continue to live their lives to the fullest. We strive to identify the unique needs of each resident delivering quality care that encourages a sense of self and independence for as long as possible.

No two people with dementia are alike and although some may only require modest assistance in managing their everyday lives, others may require much more. Dementia care can be provided from the early stages all the way through to palliative care.
